Joy the Elf Makes her annual Holiday Plans in Orange County!

There is so much to see and do in Orange County over the Holidays that Santa sent a special helper to spread JOY and make sure everyone is in the holiday spirit. Joy the Elf says there are exciting events, attractions and places to visit in Orange for the whole family!

Joy will be kicking off the season at The Market at Grelen for the holiday shops and many JOYful activities! Santa himself will be visiting every Saturday and Sunday from 11am-2pm starting on the 29th of November through the 15th of December.  Visits with Santa are FREE! Additionally, pre-cut Christmas trees will be available begining on November 29th. Wreath workshops are also available throughout the month and there is plenty of holiday shopping to be done at The Market and Grelen Downtown.

Joy can’t wait to travel to Spelled Ink for a JOYOUS Christmas Village Event in the Town of Orange on December 7th.  The Christmas Village at Spelled Ink features Christmas gift specials, free Christmas crafts for all ages in “Santa’s Workshop”, games, and refreshments.  In fact, there are holiday events all over town on that day!  There’s so much to be JOYful about!

Joy plans on sticking around Orange for the Holiday Bazaar at Orange Baptist Church from 9:00am-2:00pm, the Holiday Open House at Country Gatherings, the Christmas Village at the Train Depot and Christmas Cookie Decorating at the Arts Center all leading up to the Annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting from 4:30-7:00pm

Also on December 7th there is Christkindlmarkt at Lake of the Woods and Holiday Open House at James Madison’s Montpelier.  Both promise to be fun activities for elves of all ages!

The Four County Players, located in Barboursville, are thrilled to be putting on A Coney Island Christmas this holiday season! Joy the Elf can’t wait to visit November 22nd to December 15th on the mainstage as talented local actors weave together nostalgia, music and merriment.  Joy knows she will enJOY every moment!

Joy will also be stopping in to check on Santa in Gordonsville during their Holidays on Main Street event on Sunday, December 8th.  The beautiful Main Street will be decorated and shops and restaurants ready with Holiday Fun!  Joy’s favorite part is the Carriage Rides!

Holiday food and Holiday parties are JOY’s favorite part about December in Orange County.  Looking for great catering options during the holiday season? Real Food is a locally owned restaurant that takes pre-orders and changes their menu weekly to celebrate all the seasonal favorites. Or BBQ Exchange in Gordonsville is a community institution with amazing party platters perfect for holiday gatherings or cozy family dinners.  EnJOY amazing food this season!

Looking for a hostess gift or centerpiece for your holiday table?  No matter the event or occasion Colonial Florist in Gordonsville, Unionville Florist in Locust Grove or Lacy’s Florist in the Town of Orange are all wonderful places for your flower needs.   JOY looks forward to seeing all the beautiful work done by these skilled florists.

Looking for a way to wrap up the holiday season?  Joy the Elf plans to stay at the Inn at Willow Grove for their New Year’s Eve Retreat.  The event includes overnight accomodations, the Chef’s Tasting Menu at Vintage Restaurant and a champagne toast at midnight!  Reservations are required. The Inn at Willow Grove is overJOYed to host such an exciting event.
