The Germanna Foundation has scheduled three Fort Germanna Archaeology Site Public Access Days for Friday, July 2; Saturday, July 31 and Saturday, September 11.
The events will run from 10 am to 3 pm with tours at 10 am, 11 am, Noon, 1 pm and 2 pm.
Visitors will get the chance to see the progress made by archaeologists searching for the fort commissioned by Lt. Governor Alexander Spotswood in 1714. Hear about the everyday experiences of the English, the German settlers and the African American populations who lived and worked at Germanna. These FREE events are open to everyone, but due to the safety of staff and visitors, and limited parking at the site, we are requiring timed tickets to visit the archaeological site, limiting each time to 35 people. Tickets will be available for tours at 10am, 11am, Noon, 1pm and 2pm
