Chateau MerrillAnne is proud to announce that its flagship wine, Founded 1734, has been awarded Best of Show at the 2025 Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition, the largest and most prestigious wine competition dedicated to East Coast wines. Competitions set benchmarks, offering perspective by comparing wines from across the region. This year’s competition included wines from 17 states, and Chateau MerrillAnne is honored to be recognized among such distinguished peers.
Chateau MerrillAnne’s results at the 2025 competition:

Founded 1734 — Gold Medal, Best of Class & Best of Show
● Vin Gris — Gold Medal & Best of Class
● Duo — Gold Medal
● Green and Royal — Gold Medal
● Marquis Rouge — Gold Medal
● Cabernet Franc — Silver Medal
● Palace Red — Silver Medal

Reflecting on the award, owners Kenny and Emily shared: “The most satisfying part of this recognition is knowing how excited our supporters will be to see their wine honored. For ten years, they have celebrated this wine with us, and this award belongs to them just as much as it does to us.”
Chateau MerrillAnne extends gratitude to its winemaking team—Mike, Michael, and Jake—for their exceptional work, as well as to the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association for their tireless efforts to promote East Coast wines.

The 2025 results also highlighted the growing prominence of Virginia wine. Virginia wineries earned 19 Best of Class awards, compared to a combined 17 Best of Class awards from the other 16 participating states.
