Join us at Orange County Airport October 17th for a day filled with aviation activities. Orange County Public Library will be honoring Orange’s hometown Tuskegee hero Captain Andrew Maples, Jr. at our Reading Takes Flight event with a presentation of his life story given by AF veteran Jeffrey Joyce. Captain Maple’s story began right here in Orange, and this program will share his incredible journey of service and sacrifice. This special program is inspired by OCPL’s partnership with the Smithsonian Rural Library Program and will be held at the Orange County Airport on October 17th. There will also be aviation-themed activities for kids starting at 10:30 a.m.
