Joy the Elf Visits Orange
There is so much to see and do in Orange County over the Holidays that Santa sent a special helper to spread JOY and make sure everyone is in the holiday spirit. Joy the Elf says there are exciting events, attractions and places to visit in Orange for the whole family!
JOY will be kicking off the season at The Market at Grelen for the holiday shops and many JOYful activities! Santa himself will be visiting every Saturday and Sunday from 11am-2pm starting on the 25th of November through the 10th of December. Visits with Santat are FREE! Additionally, cut-your-own Christmas trees and pre-cut trees will begin on November 24th. Wreath workshops are also available throughout the month and there is plenty of holiday shopping to be done at The Market and Grelen Downtown.
JOY can’t wait to travel to Woodbrook Farm Vineyard for a JOYOUS Christmas Market on December 3rd featuring family friendly activities, vendors, delicious food, and of course wine. For a Free glass of wine, bring a gift worth $10 or more to donate to Orange County Children’s Toy Box. Santa will appear from 2pm-4pm for photos and hay rides will be available throughout the day.
Liberty Mills will be welcoming guests for some JOYful Family Fun on December 9th and 10th during their Home for the Holidays open-house event. JOY is very excited – she heard a rumor that Santa might be there too!!
The Four County Players, located in Barboursville, are thrilled to be putting on A Christmas Carol this holiday season! JOY the Elf can’t wait to visit November 17th to December 17th on the mainstage as talented local actors tell this classic, Christmas story. JOY knows she will enJOY every moment!
The whole family is invited on December 17th from 11am-2pm for brunch with Santa served at Vintage Restaurant at the Inn at Willow Grove. Reservations are required. A special kids menu will be available and from 12pm-3pm Santa will be visiting to meet with all the guests. The Inn at Willow Grove is overJOYed to host such an exciting event. Sometimes Santa even parks his sleigh there when he visits – isn’t that extra JOYful?
Paint It Orange will be offering open studio sessions and a wide variety of classes throughout the month of December. A kids story time will be offered on the 10th of December at 1pm for just $10 per child. JOY is looking forward to heading to the studio to make personalized gifts this holiday season!
Holiday food and Holiday parties are JOY’s favorite part about December in Orange County. Looking for great catering options during the holiday season? Real Food is a locally owned restuarant that takes pre-orders and changes their menu weekly to celebrate all the seasonal favorites. Or BBQ Exchange in Gordonsville is a community institution with amazing party platters perfect for holiday gatherings or cozy family dinners. EnJOY amazing food this season!

The Holiday Village and Orange County Christmas Parade in the Town of Orange are holiday – MUST SEE events for JOY and all her Elf friends. Be sure to check out the parade on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 and the Holiday Village on December 2nd and 16th,2023! They always enJOY the music, the floats, the vendors, and the craftsmen. It’s a day of small-town fun for the whole family!!
